Montpelier School Library

'Reading for pleasure' is a motto that is held dear here at Montpelier. We believe that reading is a lifelong enjoyable skill that can not only educate, but transport children to fantasy lands where anything is possible.
A mission of ours as the library team staff and as a school, is to rethink our library space. Gone are the days of a silent space where ancient books were dusted off the shelves and the use was simply a 'check in and out system'. We want to breathe some life into the space and ensure our students feel inspired and excited to visit the library. With the responsibility of the pupil librarian roles, this has meant that the students have started to take ownership of the space and can start to create a culture of recommendation and promote reading for pleasure.

Come and explore the MPS library, now run by our fabulous Year 6 pupil librarians! There are so many different books to explore, from fictional stories to cool non-fiction fact books, from comics to beautifully illustrated picture books. There is sure to be something for everyone.
Cosy up on the cushions with some of the latest books fresh on the shelves, make some funky bookmarks or search our Junior Librarian system to find the perfect book for you! You can even practice TT Rockstars or complete your homework when it's your year group's day.
