Hello and welcome to our website. My name is Sam Hunter and I am the very proud headteacher of Montpelier Primary School. I was appointed to this post in September 2018 and love coming to work every day. The sense of warmth and care is amazing and I believe it can be felt as soon as you walk through the door. I decided that it was the school for me after only being in the building for five minutes! Our staff are committed professionals who love being part of the team here; they are reflective, confident and have a great sense of fun.
We strive to ensure that every child has the best possible time in school. We want them to have access to an amazing curriculum that helps them develop a love of learning. We want them to learn a range of skills, including resilience and perseverance so that they can take on whatever challenges come their way. We also want them to feel that Montpelier is a place where their voice is heard, their opinions are valued and that they can make a difference. That is the same for our parents too and they are genuinely welcome in school – together we are unstoppable.
We are waiting for our next Ofsted inspection and are excited to be able to show that we are in a different place than we were when they came back in 2014. Our own self-evaluations show that we are a good school and this has been validated by an external review. We work closely with our partners at Inspiring Schools Partnership and are committed to being outward looking and innovative. There is plenty of information across our website and our Facebook page also gives you a flavour of all that is going on. However, don’t take my word for it. Come along and see for yourself what a special school we are.
