By Lou Carter

Can knights and dragons ever be friends?

Year 1 went on an egg hunt to find a special delivery of a parcel and three large eggs. The children opened the parcel with great excitement and couldn't wait to return to class to share the story. Dram the dragon has left the children some fun-filled challenged for them to complete this week.

The Gingerbread Man

by Alan MacDonald

What characters will the gingerbread man meet whilst he is on the run?

Year 1 received a special food delivery of ingredients which included: ginger, bicarbonate of soda, flour, eggs, brown sugar, butter and golden syrup. The children received another delivery which was the story, 'The Gingerbread Man.' They were extremely excited to make and bake their own gingerbread men and of course, to eat them! The gingerbread man has helped the children to learn about instructions and also complete some challenges along the way too!

The Three Little Pigs

by Nicola Baxter

How will the big, bad wolf attempt to get the three little pigs in this adventure?

Year 1 received a delivery of a book in the classroom surrounded by hay, sticks and a brick. The children were excited to share-read the story together joining in with the predictable phrases using their stick puppets for the lines; 'I will huff and puff and blow your house down!' The pigs have helped the children learn all about capital letters and full stops which are important sentence ingredients for their writing. The children wrote and shared their own stories of 'The Three Little Pigs' with a twist to Foundation children. They used their story dioramas that they created in DT lessons to retell their amazing stories.
